I just thought this was a cute moment of Father and Son. Liam loves to have his Daddy read him bedtime stories.

Optimus Prime
Liam has been so excited to get his Halloween Costume! He saw a picture of his favorite Transformer Optimus Prime in a costume magazine we got in the mail. Ever since then, he checks the mailbox every day to see if a costume is going to come. He can't understand why the mailman hasn't delivered his Optimus costume. Funny boy! We ended up finding the exact same costume this weekend at Wal-Mart and had to get it. It was a must! He had to try it on right away when he got it! We just got it yesterday, but since then he wore it before bed and all day today! He even wore it to the gas station with me this morning to get the paper! I think he will probably wear it every minute he can! What a good investment! I called him sweetheart today while I was talking to him and he was wearing his costume. He said, "Mama, Optimus Prime is no sweetheart!"
Introducing...............Optimus Prime (aka Liam)
Here is Optimus taking a break from fighting the decepticons and watching some cartoons on Mommy's bed this morning.

Legends

We went to the Legends on Saturday. It is a fun shopping area. We ended up spending the whole day there and each of us got to get a few things. Liam got some nice new shoes with laces so soon we can start learning how to tie our shoes. He is almost in boys sizes for shoes. In fact he wears the largest size in little kids, 13 1/2. Liam was so excited to see the dinosaurs at T-Rex. We didn't eat at T-Rex that day but had fun looking at everything anyway. Here he is posing with one.

Funny Jake Story!
So...........this is a funny Jake story.
On Monday night I woke up to a load boom. This was around 1:30am. Our room was pretty much pitch black, so I couldn't see a whole lot other than Jake laying down next to me. I thought something had fallen off of a shelf or something that was hanging on a wall had fallen. The next thing I know Jake sprints up out of bed and runs to the bathroom. As I'm talking to him through the bathroom door, he is telling me not to freak out but that I will probably need to drive him to the emergency room. (I don't do well with blood or really any type of accident) All I know at this point is that he had hit his head on something. I couldn't even imagine what that could have been. The last thing I noticed he looked like he was sound a sleep. Well, apparently Jake was sleep walking. He was having a dream about climbing a ladder, so as he is sleep walking he stood up on the bed and walked right into the ceiling fan that was going full blast. It made him lose his balance and fall back on the head board of the bed. That is the load boom I heard. He may have even knocked himself out for a minute or so which is why he looked like he was sleeping. Needless to say. Jake had cut his head perfectly across his eyebrow. We ended up going to the emergency room so he could get some stitches and make sure he did not have a concussion. Even though it isn't really funny, it kind of is. Even the doctor laughed about it. They said they see a lot of crazy things but hadn't seen that yet. The first thing Liam did when we got to the hospital was ask the nurse for some stickers for him and his daddy, to make them both feel better. He ended up getting a bunch of stickers. A few days later Jake got a huge black and blue eye. I didn't get a picture of that, but it looked like he had been in a fight. I swear Jake gets hurt more than anyone I know. His injuries are always weird! I guess that's why we all love him. Hopefully this gave you a good laugh! I like to tease him about it. This happened September 2nd.

Surprise Party!
Well, this weekend was busy, busy, busy!!! My wonderful husband, Jake, threw me a surprise 30th birthday party at our house on our new patio. I now know why it was so important to get the patio completed. The party was a blast and truly a fun time. Everyone showed up around 4pm and our last guests left at around midnight. It was a long day. Jake had gotten some balloon bouquets, happy birthday signs, cute plates, napkins, etc., and put up some cute baby pictures of me for decorations. We had tons of food including a yummy fruit and veggie tray, chips & dip, pasta salad, ribs, hot dogs, brats, chicken, baked beans (from Jack Stack), and cheesy potatoes (also from Jack Stack). I also had the cutest 3 tier birthday cake and chocolate chip cookies. It was better than anything I could have expected. Jake got beer, margaritas (with cute blue margarita cups), strawberry daiquiris, and tons of pop and water. I think everyone had a good time. My wonderful friend Lacey, came from Des Moines with her adorable baby boy, Anderson. He is so cute and so sweet. She was so nice for coming and spending the whole day with me. She got to KC around noon. The idea was for her to take me out for the day so I wouldn't be around for the set up of the party. However, even though Jake kept it a surprise for so long, he did end up telling me about the party on Thursday because of all the supplies that he couldn't hide. So Lacey came and helped me and Jake set things up and hung out with me until everyone showed up. She is such a great friend and it was so wonderful of her to go out of her way to be with me on my birthday! Thanks Lacey. Love you. My two best friends, Katy and Alicia, came from Waterloo Iowa. That was a true surprise. I was so happy to see Alicia and Katy. Katy brought her beautiful little girl Chloe. She also brought her wonderful husband Scott. Jake was excited because him and Scott have become good friends over the years and we both really love Scottie and how wonderful he is to Katy! It was the best day. Love you Chuckie-Katy & Leash. Chloe couldn't have been more fun. I was lucky to get to spend some extra time with her because they spent the night and stayed most of the day on Sunday. What amazing and wonderful friends I have.
Thank you to everyone who came to the party. It truly meant the world to me and I couldn't ask for better friends and family in my life.
The only sad part of the whole experience, besides turning 30, is that I am usually the big picture taker wherever I go. I was so busy being the birthday girl that I didn't even think about pictures and I don't think anyone else did either. Hopefully I will be able to round up at least a few shots. What a wonderful day it was and how horrible to not have any pictures or video to remember it by. I will be sure to post some if I can round up any!
